Info About Energy Recovery

Energy Recovery MethodsEnergy recovery is a broad term used to describe a range of transfers that optimise efficient waste disposal. Commonly known as waste to energy or energy from waste, energy recovery involves obtaining energy from waste products and using them to provide fuel sources. Waste that would usually be disposed of in landfills can be converted into electricity or heat energy to warm a home.

The following information explains how energy recovery works and how it can help you to conserve energy.

Benefits of Energy Recovery

Energy recovery is used to replace less efficient means of waste disposal. Landfill and incineration have been used for some time to dispose of waste but are becoming replaced by more efficient means of waste disposal.

As incineration is being used in increasingly less places people are beginning to turn to more environmentally sound solutions that can recover energy. Waste to energy differs from conventional incineration methods in several ways. Solid waste from city landfills or tips is incinerated using more economical combustion methods. The energy produced from waste to energy transfers is used to make steam or electricity that in turn can be used to power homes and businesses.

Energy Recovery HeatersWaste to energy transfers are also highly efficient in disposing of waste volumes. As well as supplying energy in the form of heat and electricity the original volume of waste used to fuel the energy recovery process may be reduced by up to ninety percent. As less room is required to store the by products and as less fuels are required to initiate the waste to energy process more and more countries are turning to energy recovery solutions to provide new clean energy.

Heat Pump Energy Recovery

A simple form of energy recovery for domestic use is heat pumps. Heat pumps can be installed in a variety of properties and can be used to bring cool air or extra warmth to your home.

Heat pumps are energy efficient heating solutions that save money on fuel costs while helping to protect the environment. Heat pumps supply a less concentrated source of warmth compared to traditional heating methods. Heat pumps warm rooms gradually instead of making a room overly stuffy to quickly as radiators and other heating methods can do.

Whether they are used to heat or warm up a room heat pumps introduce more oxygen into your home as opposed to simply warming up the air inside. Depending on which model of heat pump you choose you may also be able to use it to heat water. Some pumps contain processors which perform similarly to a thermostat by controlling the speed of the fan to regulate the water flow.
