Information on Global Warming

Green House Gas ImageOver the last few years global warming has become a greater issue than ever before with the effects of global warming now becoming apparent. There are many investigations on going into the rate that global warming is increasing and there are also investigations into the various effects it will eventually have on the earth as a whole. The article below explores the different signs of global warming and the eventual effects it is thought to have on the earth;

Causes of Global Warming

There are many things that are thought to cause global warming and some of these are below;

  • Greenhouse gases - The green house gases are a major contributor to the effect of global warming and these gases include the likes of; Carbon Dioxide, Methane and Nitrous Oxide. These are the three main gases associated with global warming and they all come from different sources such as the Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is increased by the burning of fossil fuels and deforestation.

    Effect of Global Warming on AnimalsThe methane comes from various sources such as the huge rice fields in places such as China create a great amount of methane, but then the livestock fields all over the world also create large amounts of methane. Nitrous Oxide comes from things such as fertilizer used by agriculturists and although there are other processes that have Nitrous Oxide as a bi product this is the main emitter.

  • Natural causes of Global Warming - Things such as volcano eruptions can great large amounts of harmful substances including a lot of carbon dioxide, and when the volcano explodes these harmful substances are released into the atmosphere.

What Will be the Effects of Global Warming?

There will be dramatic effects as a result of global warming and some of these may include;

  • Extinction of many animals, an example of this is the polar bear because of the fact the ice caps will melt there will be nowhere for them to live.
  • There will be a dramatic change in the weather the summers will be a lot warmer and there will be more drastic storm weather with a higher chance of things such as hurricanes. This in turn will ruin many animals habitats.
  • It will have an effect on the financial system of the world also because of how much all the damages will cost the various countries world wide.
