Local Waste Removal

The local waste removal providers give the public a range of services making it as easy as possible to remove rubbish from your home. This includes garden waste as well as general household refuse.

Household Waste Removal

Your local Council will generally be the ones to take charge of removing your waste on a weekly basis. They will usually have a set day for collection in your area so if you aren't sure of the exact time table then contact your council for information. Most councils have started collecting garden waste on a regular basis as well to aid recycling in that area.

They will usually have certain things they can and can't accept so knowing what you can put out would be useful to know. Here is a short list of things they can accept:

  • Glass Bottles
  • Cardboard
  • Scrap metal
  • Newspaper and paper
  • Car and household batteries
  • Aluminium cans
  • Textiles
  • Paint
  • Wood

Products that they can't accept include:

  • Asbestos
  • Hazardous waste
  • Dirty animal bedding and faeces
  • Trade or commercial Waste
  • Trees with a girth bigger than 30cm

For commercial waste the company owner and property owner should include the fact they are a company, so the council will remove their waste as the charges will differ to household costs.

Local Recycling Services

As well as general refuse removal there are now plenty of companies including your local councils that will remove recyclable waste for you. Most councils are now removing recycling waste as part of their regular rubbish collections, to make sure as many people as possible are recycling their rubbish.

There are many items you can now recycle including:

  • Paper and cardboard
  • Clean glass
  • Plastic
  • Garden waste
    • Your garden waste is normally removed as part of your regular collection but some councils are now offering composters, so if that’s something your interested in contact your local council.
